This notice describes how Flywheel Reader and the Flywheel services it uses handle information when you read, sign in, sync progress, or interact with advertising features.
Information we handle
Account information
When you sign in, we may handle your login identifier and identifier type, nickname, avatar, registration time, and recent login time. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes where password login is used.
Reading activity
For signed-in readers, we store shelf items and reading progress, including work and chapter identifiers, page or locator information, completion state, and reading timestamps so progress can sync across devices.
Device and service data
Service requests may include user, anonymous, device, and session identifiers; app or browser and operating-system versions; language; IP address; and User-Agent information.
Usage and analytics
We may process page and feature interactions, session events, duration, screen information, and campaign attribution parameters to understand service use, measure feature performance, and diagnose reliability issues.
Advertising data
When advertising or attribution is enabled, we may process ad impressions and interactions, provider and placement details, click identifiers, and campaign parameters such as UTM values, fbclid, and ttclid for delivery, frequency control, measurement, and reporting.
Data on this device
A guest shelf, comic reader preferences, recent-ad report details, and similar preferences can remain in this browser or device. Your language preference is also saved in a Reader cookie.
Why we use information
- Provide sign-in, reading, shelf, progress sync, and resume features.
- Protect the service, investigate failures, and improve stability.
- Understand product usage and measure whether features work as intended.
- Deliver and measure advertising and provide privacy choices when required.
Service providers and sharing
Hosting, content delivery, analytics, and advertising providers may process information for us when their services are enabled. We may also disclose information when required to comply with law, protect users, or secure the service.
Retention and security
Retention depends on the data type and the time needed to provide the service, protect it, and meet legal obligations. We use access controls, transport protection, and product-level data separation, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Change your language from the Language settings page.
- Clear site data in your browser or device settings to remove locally stored Reader information.
- When the advertising provider requires it, open Ad privacy choices from Settings.
- Reader does not currently offer self-service data export or deletion. Contact us to ask about your information or available requests.
Updates and contact
We may update this notice when Reader or its service providers change. We will update the effective date when material changes are published.
